BioYou know, it's kind of strange. As much as I love talking about me, I always feel so awkward writing about myself in these little text boxes. Still, I've an adoring public to think of, so I guess it's best that I just get this over with.
My name is Joseph, and I twenty-two years old. I was born on the twenty-sixth of May, on a Tuesday afternoon. It was warm. My mother was in labor for three days, but I refused to be born until I felt I was ready. To this day, I still have a tendency to procrastinate until the last minute.
I'm a writer; rather, I love having written. It's a nice feeling, having written something. The sense of accomplishment I get from completing, or at least getting tired of working on, a piece of short fiction or poetry is a beautiful kind of catharsis. It's the actual writing that tends to get in the way and complicate things.
I love to read, but not the same kind of love I have for writing. No, I actually enjoy reading. My favorite books are many, but a few examples include The Sword of Truth, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and The Golden Compass. I love video games, too. Again, my list of favorites is longer than I care to type, but I'm probably most fond of The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts. Within the last couple of years I've also taken my first foray into online gaming with GuildWars, to which I am addicted. It's lovely. Find me in game under the name Thaddaeus Black. If you're really interested in knowing more about my favorites, feel free to ask me sometime. I love to talk about myself, and will do so with little to no provocation.
I love the Japanese language. I started learning it with only a passing interest, but fell in love with it when I discovered I actually had a knack for the language. I've learned a healthy level of new grammar and two whole other sets of characters which make our alphabet look easy. It's wonderful, and I can't wait until I'm fluent.
And I have no idea what I'm going to do with this journal.
